Kota Kinabalu Day 3

Day 3 we woke up around 7.00am. As usual i morning call Ara. We took taxi from hotel to Wawasan Plaza. After that we took bus to Donggongon that cost us RM1.70 per person. We had our breakfast in Donggongon town, so called nasi ayam. :/ The nasi ayam is very weird here. The rice they cook without using any chicken stock. We ate it like eating white rice + chicken dishes. :/ Not nice at all. After finish eating, we went to find a way to go to the Monsopiad Cultural Village. We ask around the area about the bus to the village but they said there are no more buses that go to the area. They ask us to go by van. The van charge us RM15 four people to the village. We have no choice but to pay. Better than taking taxi. lol After around 10 to 15 minutes, we reached the village.

Once we reach the entrance, we are required to register and pay the entrance fees. Since they said there are student price, we took out our MMU smart card to get discount. Student price for the village is RM20 per person which is very cheap comparing to normal price RM45. We took pictures with the staff there and they lead us to the waiting hall. They served us Tuak to welcome us. After a while, a tour guide came to us and took us around the village. She took us to the House of Skulls where they keep all the ancient skull. The tour guide is very friendly and explain a lot of stuff to us very detail. After that we were took around the other place where they make Tuak and Sagu. Soon after explaining how to make tuak and sagu, she took us to play their traditional game such as lastik, sumpit, etc. We can play as long as we want since there are no other people at that time.

She took us to their traditional house. Inside there are a lot of stuff like the music instrument, baby’s bed, and a few traditional objects. She then came together with a very damn big Ulat Sagu. Argh! i hate worms. :/ She said we can eat the worms alive. They have a lot of nutrient that is good for skin especially for girls. Too bad both of the girls don’t dare to touch it. After finish touring the house, she told us that the cultural performance is going to start soon. We went to the stage and wait there. Only very few audience that waiting at the stage.

They perform to us a few of their traditional dance. Since there are very few audience, they called us to go on the stage and dance with them. For me i think why not? I’m on vacation to have fun anyway! After the dance, there are one man performance. The guy keep moving like he’s hunting in the jungle with a long sumpit. When he walk around the audience, he suddenly scream to find his “victim”. Only my dear who is screaming and scared because of his scream. lol So he ask her to go on the stage to sumpit 1 balloon that they tied on each corner of the stage. At first, she couldn’t sumpit the balloon because the needle didn’t go fast enough. It fell down straight after she blew from the sumpit. The guy ask her to go nearer and nearer and nearer until she is very near to the balloon. It was a point blank. lol After she manage to hit the balloon. He scream again and take picture with her.

After the performance is over, we took pictures with them. We told them that the counter said we can wear their traditional clothes and take pictures. They said ok and took us to change our clothes. From this point, please beware of your valuable because my friend lost his RM50 after we change back our clothes. They might steal something from you if you are not careful. After that we took their van(of course need to pay) to St. Micheal Church which is the oldest church in Sabah. After that we continue go back to Warisan Square and took shuttle back to hotel.

I tapao KFC back for lunch and my dear she tapao McD. I just want to test whether what my friend, Chris said is true or not. He said that the coleslaw here suck. I tried and it’s true! The coleslaw here taste weird. I can’t even explain. Peninsular is much more better. We rested in the room until 3.30PM. We waiting for our rented car. A Kancil which cost us Rm80 per day. After we get ready, Ara told me that YY don’t want to follow because she is too sleepy. So i went out dating with my dear only. I drove the car to Poh To Tze. We took a few pictures there. The temple is quite old but pretty. That time i had a stomachache. Keep going to toilet few times. After that we went to Tanjung Aru Beach and walk along the beach area. The beach is quite nice and clean. There are a few pub and restaurant and 1 big food court. I bought a grilled corn. It was so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! damn nice!

Since quite late already, we decide to pick up Ara and YY from 1 Borneo. Then we continue our journey to find the Seafood Restaurant in Gayang. The road here is very dark and damn scary to drive. After a while we saw the signboard to Gayang Seafood Restaurant. The place is very remote. But there are a lot of people visiting this restaurant. There are a lot of lobsters and fishes in the tank. I let my dear to order our dinner menu because she is more expert in seafood stuff. It’s in her blood. We ordered a fish(very expensive), chicken, scallop, vegetable and  crabs. All the dishes are super nice! I love them so much! Even Ara who doesn’t even eat much fish like it.

After finish eating, we went back to KK Town. We drove up to the Menara Pemerhati Bukit Bendera. Here we can view the whole KK Town. The area here is quite dark. Anyone coming here must be a little careful. We too a few pictures here and went down after satisfy. On the way back we stop at the Taman Awam Teluk Likas to walk around the area. Took a few pictures and straight went back to hotel to take bath and rest for tomorrow trip. Tomorrow trip is Kundasang! Yay! *sleep early*

It been a while since i posted my trip to Kota Kinabalu Day 1. I have been busy until no time to blog. Anyway, i will show some pictures i took there on the second day.

We woke up quite early that day, maybe because too excited to go to the islands. We woke up around 0630 and outside is already god damn bright! lol i never expect that in the first place. Not use to it. Normally in peninsular 6 something is still dark. haha. Ara and YY woke up late so we need to wait for them to get ready. I went to Gloria Jean’s Coffee to buy breakfast since i felt so hungry. After both of them done, we took taxi from 1 Borneo to Jesselton Point. YY seem emo for some unknown reason. lol

Once reach at the Jesselton Point, we straight went inside to survey the price of trip to 3 islands. We plan to go to Manukan, Mamutik and Sapi. They are charging us RM27 per person for 2 islands and add a few ringgit to the 3rd Island which is much more cheaper than paying for 3 islands. This is actually illegal for them to do this because they want to get a bit profit from us rather than giving it to their company. XD  After we bought our breakfast and lunch, we wait for our boat to come. The guy who made the deal with us tell us that his boat is already full and need to wait for the next one. We already blur and confuse of what to do because we don’t want to go to two islands only. He said he told his colleague and his colleague  will know what to do and give us his hp number if anything wrong. That time i felt he is a bit irresponsible. :/ We cannot do anything except follow what he told us.

We first went to Manukan Island and they gave us  2 hours to enjoy on this island. We rented the snorkeling tools from them for RM10 until the end of the trip. The beach here quite clean and the water also very visible and blue. It been a while since i saw a real beach in my whole life! lol We can see the fish swimming happily in the water. Here we can feed the fish with bread. The fish is quite friendly to us but some of them quite naughty, bitting our leg. Don’t worry, it’s not hurt at all. Haha.

The boat driver came to us after we finish packing to negotiate a new package to us. He willingly took us to a perfect point for snorkeling around Mamutik Island and Sapi Island. After that he will drop us at Pulau Sapi until  4PM. We agree and go with the plan. We paid extra RM120 for 4 people. The package is quite worth it because the driver and his friend went together with us when we snorkeling. They try to find and show stuff in the sea to us like the clown fish, turtle, star fish etc. At least they are not just sitting in the boat waiting for us. lol

I feel so sad when i saw a lot of coral around the area is dead. Overall the snorkeling trip is a great experience to me since this is the first time i snorkel. I can’t even swim but i dare to jump in the water with life jacket of course! XD I was “dead” after the first trip because lack of stamina. T_T My dear and my two friends enjoy snorkeling at the 2nd point. They said 2nd point is much more prettier than the 1st time. Damn!  At Pulau Sapi, there are a lot of big lizard wondering around so beware. I was too tired that time. Just lie down and rest. Don’t care about the lizard anymore. lol We ate our lunch we bought earlier and enjoy at the beach. The fish here is more friendly as they swim together with you. Not like the fish in Manukan. They are a bit scare to human.

After 4PM, the boat came to bring us back to Jesselton Point. The island close at 4PM. We walk all the way to Warisan Square to catch the shuttle back to 1 Borneo. On the way there, we took a lot of pictures.  We missed the shuttle bus and need to wait for the next 1. We decide to split and walk around the Warisan Square. Me and my dear went inside KK Waterfront and took a few nice pictures as our memories. I love the picture of the beautiful evening in KK.

After we reach 1 Borneo, we went back to our room and bath. We went to the complex to have our dinner. We decided before to try the Crocodile Restaurant since we never eat any croc’s meat before in our life. We were the only customer in the restaurant. The food there is not bad. Croc’s meat is better than i thought. The meat is a bit elastic than beef. After we ate, we separate again and walk around the complex. My dear suddenly stomachache and need to go to toilet. Too bad the toilet in the complex is already closed since it is so late already. But i think they shouldn’t do that. Since the people are still in the complex. :/ We decide to go back to our room. After that we just resting and watching tv. We slept quite early after a tiring day. I called Ara to tell him what time need to wake up for tomorrow. Overall day 2 trip is very fun comparing to the day 1.

I was so busy this few weeks until don’t have enough time to write about my trip to Kota Kinabalu on 20th October 2009. lol We woke up at 4am in the morning and prepare to go to the airport. Both my sisters fetch us to LCCT airport around 5am. I pity both of them and very thankful because they still willing to fetch us although they need to go to work later on. Thanks sis! TwT When reach the airport, we meet up with my friends, Ara and Ying Ying. After we went to check in our luggage, four of us went to McDonalds having our early breakfast. After a fast breakfast, we quickly rush to board our plane. A lot of people already queuing up once we all reach the boarding gate. Our seats are at the centre of the plane and next to the window. Muahaha!

My dear slept for the whole trip while i was playing with my PSP. Once reach KKIA, we need to line up to register as a visitor and wait for our luggage. We took taxi to 1Borneo Tune Hotel which cost us around RM50 per trip. Once we reach the hotel, we put our luggage there and ask the receptionist about the location to the Aquarium Museum  which is located inside of UMS. The receptionist told us that the museum is very near to the hotel and the place can be reach by walking. Since all of us feel hungry, we decided to have our breakfast at 1Borneo Mall first. Most of the shops and restaurants are still close since it is still early in the morning. There are a few restaurants that already opened for business. We decided to eat at Apple Cafe.

After we had our breakfast, we walk under the bright sun and hot weather to UMS. Once we reach the entrance we took a few pictures and continue walking inside the university. We ask the guards for direction to the museum. We were shock when they told us that the museum is very far inside the university and will take a long time if we want to walk there.  Mustard! Tune Hotel’s receptionist was lying to us! Damn you fatass! Cheater! We took the university bus to the museum. The place is at the end of the university. My god! XD I was sweating like hell because of the heat!

After the bus drop us at the end of the university, we need to walk around 500m – 1km more to reach the place. =.= Once we reached, we need to pay the entrance fees which cost RM5 per head. Inside the museum is not so big but the stuff they show us is quite nice and the most important thing is that the air conditioner! so cold until i don’t want to go out anymore. lol There are a few fishes inside the aquarium is super big! gigantic! This is the first time i saw a really big fish in my whole life! I wonder how old is the fish. haha. There are a few sea creature inside the aquariums including sea turtle, lobsters, etc.

After we satisfy with taking pictures and the air conditioner, we decided to go back to Tune Hotel to check-in. The journey is so damn tired and far! I don’t recommend anyone to come here unless you have transport! Since the bus is not regulary come to the area, we walk back to the university entrance while waiting for any bus to come. After we walking maybe about 2km, we reach a bus stop! finally! My dear is very tired since she is not used to walk long distance journey. The bus drop us at the entrance of UMS and from there we walk back to Tune Hotel.

Before we go back to the hotel, we went to 1Borneo Rainforest for a visit. The entrance fee is RM10 per head. We all were disappointed because there are no event that happen during that time. Inside the rainforest, the environment are quite similar to the real forest. They have a lot of animals such as snakes, squirrels, frogs and birds that are keep in cage. There are nothing but expensive souvenir and animals in the area. So unless there are event happening, please don’t waste your time and money to come here. =.=

Since there are some time before the check-in, we went to find nom nom to feed our hungry stomach. XD After wandering around, we decided to have our lunch at the mall’s food court. There are many stall inside the food court but not much people eating here. The price here are still acceptable from RM4-RM10. I ordered myself a coconut drink and wantan mee while my dear ate fried tomyum meehoon. The food are ok~ not so bad and not so delicious, totally eatable. lol

On the way to check-in, we went to Giant to buy drinking water because Tune Hotel didn’t provide any water dispenser service. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the first time we went by stairs since we didn’t see any lift nearby. lol Once reach the 2nd floor, i only notice that there are lift sign! XD waste of energy climbing two floors. Hahaha. Our room is quite small as expected but overall are ok and clean. I just don’t like the shower room because it is too small for me. I can’t move freely when bathing. After bath, we went to sleep for a while and went to take shuttle bus at 4.30pm to KK Town. The bus is free for hotel residents.

The journey to KK Town is around 20-30 min depending on traffic. KK has a lot of roundabout which i wonder why. :/ Once reach, we walk around The Waterfront. This place is quite happening as there are many bars and restaurants here. The place is located in front of Warisan Square and next to the sea! You can even see beautiful sunset from here. Next, we walk to the wet market + night market. Since i feel a bit hungry, i went and bought apam balik and sotong bakar. The seafood here are very expensive. You need to try to negotiate until you feel that the price offered is reasonable. If not please don’t buy or else you’ll feel cheated. :/

After finish eating, we continued to the handicraft market which is very near to the night market. I bought magnet that can place at the fridge’s door for my mum. 3 for RM10. My dear continue to buy some souvenir for her mum and sisters. After that we decide to continue our journey to Tanjung Aru… by bus! We thought it was easy. We just went to any bus that pass through since all are the same bus. After few minutes on the bus. The sky start to become dark but it only around 6pm! =.= Then we decide not to go there and drop at Handicraft Street. We went inside shopping for a while and then walk back to Warisan Square.

On the way there, my dear suddenly said want to eat something. We went to McD again to eat. Ara bought his last collection of Contour Glass. XD finally he have his complete collection of McD contour glass. My dear having her usual McChicken medium set and i didn’t order anything. I only ate her fries but i notice that Sabah McD’s fries are very salty! :/ i need to shake a little bit to remove the salt before i eat it. After eat we continue to Warisan Square and wait for our shuttle bus to come. Ara left his glass at the McD and run back with YY. XD I wait for the bus with my dear. The bus came around 8pm and we went back to 1Borneo and Tune Hotel. Since we was so tired, we went back to our own room to relax. Although 1st day is quite messy and tiring, but we see a lot of stuff that normally we wont see in peninsular.  :D Sleep and continue to day 2!

Tun Dr. Mahathir Open House

On 26th of September 2009, i took my dear to Tun Dr. Mahathir’s Open House. This is the first time i went to his house which is located at The Mines housing area. That time, my car is not allowed to enter the area. We were asked to wait outside for the train to come and pick us up but we didn’t. We decided to walk to his house. It took us about 15 minutes to reach Tun’s house. Once arrived, we saw a lot of people visiting his open house. Tun’s house is not as big as i thought it would be but his house’s garden area is very large enough to fit a few hundred of people who came to visit.

I saw a lot of people lining up to take picture and shake hand with his son. Since both of us so hungry, we went to take our food and find a place to sit and eat. After finish eating, Tun and his wife went out greeting everyone and a lot of people taking picture and shaking hand with him. Since i saw a lot of people surrounding him, i gave up hope to shake his hand. T_T It is not that i don’t want too, just that we don’t have much time and need to go back early.

We took a few pictures around his house and wait for the train to come and pick us up. After we reach the entrance of the housing area, we walked to The Mines Shopping Mall. There i bought my fish and cat food for mimi. The fish is for my aquarium at home not for my cat. lol Next time i will post pictures of mimi and my fish!

Look Out Point @ Little Genting

The next day after i went to Banting, my dear ask me to go to look out point or little genting because she want to celebrate one of her friend birthday. We went from Cyberjaya around 7 something. I was lucky because my friend, Mr. E, borrowed his phone’s GPS to guide me to the location. For your information, i have no idea how to go to that place. lol

The place is located around Hulu Langat area. We took Kajang Highway from Cyberjaya and exit somewhere around Hulu Langat exit. That is the first time i driving blindly. XD I just follow where the gps told me to. Once exit the highway, the road around there is freaking dark. =_= With the help of gps, i managed to take them there successfully.

The place is quite happening as there are lights everywhere and bunch of humans around the area having dinner. There are a few restaurants for us to choose and we decided to have dinner in Gasoline. We give the cake we bought to the cashier to give surprise to.. i’ll just name her Ms. S. lol I notice that the menu is already change. I order a set of black pepper butter chicken dinner set + drink while my dear is ordering sambal seafood rice. Mine was yum yum while my dear’s was uekk!! XD

After all of us finish eating, we wait for the cake to come. The workers took quite a long time to bring the cake to our table. Before they bring the cake, they play the birthday song and all of us sing for her. She did not expect the cake would come at that time and quite surprised. lol We took a bunch of pictures with her and left the restaurant.

Next, we went to the Look Out Point to view the whole KL area. I was quite shock with the scene. It was very beautiful to see KL area at night. *awwwwww* After we took pictures around the area and chit chat, we went back to the car and continue go back to Cyberjaya. On the way back i was super fast since i know the way back! haha! We reach back home in Cyberia Condominium around 12am.
